Bristol Parkhive is a collaborative project between the University of the West of England (UWE) and the Bristol Parks Forum, with the support of other local partners.

The ‘Parkhive App’ is here
– find your nearest park, download the app from:
www.bristolparkhive.com

There are four strands to the project:

Digital Photographic Archive – creating a new Digital Photographic Archive for the City celebrating parks and green spaces in Bristol’s European Green Capital Year 2015.

The App – making it easy to find your local park together with information about facilities; walking routes & trails; travel information; parks groups activities & events and local stories & histories. To promote Bristol’s parks and green spaces to visitors and serve as a valuable resource for residents.

Skills Development – help build up the skills and capacity of parks groups volunteers to innovate and do their work, by delivering training in volunteer management, activities and event organisation, app and website development, and social media usage.

Showcase Projects – demonstrate (or ‘Showcase’) a range of approaches which may be replicated in other areas of the city after the Green Capital year. Share learning and good practice and develop a series of case-studies which can be used by other parks groups in the future.
